About

Mission

To light appropriately, without causing harm to the natural environment, by creating comfortable lighting design strategies for people and ecology.

Vision

To reduce the impact of the built environment on nature, by providing suitable lighting schemes which preserve Dark Skies and result in biodiversity net gain, enabling people and nature to thrive.

Founder

Jennifer has sixteen years industry experience as a lighting designer and a lifetime of love for the outdoors. She has a Masters Degree in Light and Lighting, is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers and the Society of Light and Lighting, which she is the south-west Representative for. She also teaches lighting design on the architecture and interior design degree courses at Bristol, Falmouth and Plymouth Universities.

She has a Masters Degree in Light and Lighting from UCL and previously headed up the Lighting Consultancy team at E.ON and, prior to that, at British Gas, Centrica. Jennifer's inspiration for working on projects with environmental constraints is to have a positive effect on nature and our pla

Jennifer's inspiration for working on projects with environmental constraints is to have a positive effect on nature and our planet.

 

Jennifer is a keen mountaineer; when time allows she will be hiking in beautiful scenery.

His experience in lighting consultancy spans more than 30 years; during that time he has worked on a vast variety of projects, although his favourites are sports and street lighting schemes. He is a member of the Society of Light and Lighting, as well as the Insti

He is a member of the Society of Light and Lighting, as well as the Institute of Lighting Professionals.

Outside of work, you will often find Ben out on his boat.

Oliver, an Intermediate Ecological Lighting Designer, began his career as a theatrical lighting designer after graduating from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. After transitioning to architectural lighting design he has worked on a large range of project types but particularly enjoys high-end residential. He's developed a great knack for problem solving the trickiest of projects.

Oliver is a keen musician; he plays the French Horn in his free time.

Our Business Development Manager, Karen is often on the phone talking to architects, ecologists, and planning consultants. With over 30 years experience in sales and marketing, in both the UK and the US, Karen ensures we are kept busy.


Karen is a keen swimmer, and you can usually find her near a pool.

Aramis, our Business Administrator, has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Liverpool University. He started his career in construction, building services, and specialist engineering, and has worked with Transport for London and Interserve.


In his spare time Aramis enjoys gardening and observing nature.

Alice is our Social Media Manager and Graphic Designer. She studied Interior Design at Falmouth University and when she's not working with us, she spends her time designing sustainable interiors for a wide range of project types.


Out of the office Alice is likely to be found exploring Cornwall, often with her dog Briar.
